Guide 07 · What you own
Your Things, food and shopping
Buy useful items, carry or keep them at home, and choose clear actions such as Eat, Drink, Read, Wear, Gift or Cook.

Know this first
Every item has a real use or clear purpose
Carried and at-home items are separate
The button tells you exactly what will happen
Carried or kept at home
Open Your Things from Home & Belongings under Your Life, or from the belongings area at Home. The sheet separates what your character is carrying from what is stored at home, making it easier to understand what can be used right now.
Select an item to see its quantity, location and available action. Closing the sheet returns you to the place you were viewing, so checking a snack or coat does not move your character across the city.
Each item also remembers where it came from when that history matters: a purchase, gift, prize or family keepsake. That line is part of your story and does not change what the item can do.
Items use honest action words
- Eat or Drink for food and drink.
- Wear for clothing that can be equipped.
- Read for books and papers with a reading action.
- Gift when an item can be given to somebody.
- Cook when the item belongs in a recipe.
Shop for a reason
The High Street groups food, essentials, services and nightlife so you can begin with the need you are trying to solve. Stock is real: a player business or Townsfolk shop must actually have the item.
Choose Your Life, open Money & Property, then High Street. A listing shows the item, price and available amount. Check your Wallet and the next rent payment before confirming an expensive choice.
A purchase moves the item into your belongings and the money to the seller. Check the receipt and then open Your Things before buying another. If the item is sold out, choose another seller or return after it has been restocked.
Cooking and gifts connect systems
Choose Recipes from the food or home route when you want to cook. A recipe lists every ingredient and any kitchen item it needs. Having one ingredient does not mean the whole recipe is ready.
Cooking turns the listed ingredients into a new food item. Read the result to see what was used and where the finished food was placed.
Gifts turn an item into a social action and still respect the other person's boundaries. Select Gift only after choosing the intended person, and check that the item is carried rather than stored at home.
If the action you expected is missing
- Check whether the item is carried or at home.
- Check whether you have enough of it for a recipe.
- Check whether eating or drinking has already helped as much as it can for now.
- Believe the exact action word shown. An item with no button does not secretly have a general-purpose action.
