Terms of service
Plain language · 15 August 2026 · version 2026-08-15.v2
These are the practical rules for joining and using the public beta. The game is unfinished, so stability, saved progress and availability are not guaranteed.
Joining the public beta
You must be 18 or over. Joining requires you to self-attest that you meet that requirement. Self-attestation is not identity or age verification. Each time you send beta feedback, we ask you to accept the current Beta Terms and acknowledge the current Privacy Notice, then store those versioned choices with the feedback receipt. We may pause new signups when needed for maintenance, security or safety.
Accounts and access
Keep sign-in links and codes private. Do not resell or share an account, automate play, scrape private surfaces or probe the service. We may pause or remove an account that threatens people, data or the service.
People, characters and townsfolk
Other human residents share Solano with clearly labelled, computer-controlled Townsfolk. In-character conflict such as rivalries, lawsuits and tabloid feuds can be part of the game. Hate, threats, harassment, impersonation, exploitation or targeting the person behind a character are not.
Your contributions
You keep ownership of original things you write or upload. You give us the limited permission needed to store, moderate and display them in the game and its in-world record. Only share material you have the right to use.
Public Lives Lab
The Public Lives Lab has a separate Charter and idea licence, shown before someone takes part. A public beta account does not by itself grant Lab access or accept those Lab terms.
Lab ideas and feedback
You keep ownership of an original Lab contribution. Each idea submission asks you to grant the Public Lives Game team a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive and royalty-free right to build, adapt, test and publish the idea. There is no promise of payment, credit, selection or implementation. Only submit material you have the right to share; do not send confidential information or someone else’s personal data.
Support, credit and experiments
A Lab support signal is evidence, not a binding vote or delivery order. Missions are voluntary, admission is bounded and volunteering does not guarantee a place. You can withdraw at any time. Optional public credit and the account-owned contributor cosmetic carry no stats, currency, privileges, transfer value or priority.
Reports and enforcement
Use the available report and block controls or contact us about safety concerns. We may preserve relevant records, restrict contact, remove content or limit access while a report is reviewed. Do not make false reports or use reporting tools to harass someone.
A changing test
Features, balance, characters and saved progress may change or be reset during beta. We may pause the service for maintenance or safety. Play money and in-game items have no cash value, and there is no pay-to-win purchase of power.
Leaving
You can stop taking part at any time and ask us to handle your data as described in the privacy notice. Public city records may need to remain in anonymised form so shared events still make sense to other residents.
