Three easy ways to orient yourself
- 1
Now
Choose Now on the Life Compass. It shows a small number of unfinished stories that deserve your attention today.
- 2
The map
Choose The City on the Life Compass, then The District. It shows streets, homes, shops, venues and public buildings as real places with addresses.
- 3
Your phone
Open the phone button from anywhere in the game. It holds messages, letters, contacts, the directory, your diary and a quick view of your money.
Addresses connect the city
Homes, shops and public buildings have stable addresses. The same address can appear on the map, in the directory, in a message or in the local paper.
Select a map place to see what it is, who or what may be there and which action takes you inside. If a message names an address, use the phone Directory or the map rather than guessing which menu contains it.
Other players do not need your exact private home details to interact with you. Public pages use safer street-level information where appropriate, while signed-in neighbourhood features can use the detail needed to show who lives nearby.
Going somewhere can take time
A place card may show a travel time before you choose it. Once you begin the journey, your character can be busy until arrival. The busy message near your character shows when another large action will be available.
Opening your phone, reading a result or browsing information does not normally start a journey. Look for the highlighted action button when you intend to move or commit time.
If you still feel lost
Go back to Now and choose the smallest unfinished story. You are seeing a whole city, not a checklist that must be cleared.
If a destination seems empty, check the time of day, the requirement written on its action or whether your character is already busy. If the page still does not explain the problem, open Help in your Pocket and submit the page details.
