Family play, childhood and succession are not in the public beta.
What is not in the public beta
You begin the public beta with one adult resident. You cannot create or control a child, switch between relatives, start a pregnancy, adopt, retire into a successor or inherit another resident's life during this beta.
A Family route may be visible in some builds. Its presence does not mean the feature is open. Do not make plans that depend on a button, profile or family record shown there.
No Family play link appears on this guide while the system is unavailable. The availability label at the top of the article is the public source of truth.
Childhood is not a playable stage yet
Some city records, Townsfolk biographies or public stories may mention children and families. Those references are part of the setting, not an invitation to control a child or enter a school journey.
The public beta is for players aged eighteen or over and begins with an adult character. Appearance, biography text or roleplay cannot change that rule or unlock unavailable family actions.
- There is no child character creation in the public beta.
- School choices and caregiver controls are unavailable.
- Ages below eighteen cannot be used to enter adult systems.
- The live character journey begins with an adult resident.
Use the relationship tools that are live
The People page is live for meeting residents and reading existing ties. People & Places under Your Life leads to People, Boundaries, venues and The Commons without passing through unavailable family controls.
Use Boundaries before any adult relationship story. Preferences describe what you may consider; each specific adult action still requires agreement, and either person can withdraw consent.
Friendship, dating and roleplayed relationships do not create a legal family record in this beta. Keep the story within the tools the page actually offers and do not claim another player's character has agreed to a family event.
Block and report controls remain available from the relevant person or message. Those controls apply to the whole account and do not depend on a family feature.
Unavailable routes do not create extra power
The public beta gives one active adult resident to each account. One account receives one vote in an election and can field one candidate, regardless of any family references visible in city records.
Do not use extra accounts, arranged trades or written family claims to create extra votes, sales, reviews or rewards. A relationship written in a biography does not transfer money, property, consent or control of another character.
If an unavailable family route appears to grant an action, stop before using it and send the page details through Help. Do not repeat the action to test whether it creates another result.
Where to go instead
For relationships, choose Your Life, then People & Places and People. For consent and contact controls, use Boundaries. For your home and belongings, use Now or the Home & Belongings path.
The Education guide carries the same unavailable label for university and course play. Work and the Job Centre remain the current routes for earning and career choices.
Check this guide's availability label after a public update rather than relying on an old screenshot or a route that happens to render. There is no play link while the feature is unavailable.
